Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day and you got to spend it with the one's you love. We had a wonderful weekend, for once we were able to just stay home and relax! On Friday, I took Jacob to a Valentine's playdate to his friend Kaile's house where they exchanged Valentine's with a group of kids - it was pretty adorable! I tried to keep Jacob away from the cupcakes that Erica made (pictured below) and we almost made it until the very end, but Jacob spotted them. So, I let him endulge, well devour the cupcake. It was pretty cute and messy! Thank you Erica and Kaile for a memorable Valentine's Party!

When we got home, Jacob and I got out the crayons and stickers to make daddy a special Valentine's Day card.

"Hmmm... what should I draw?"
Okay, really he was just chewing on the crayon, but it made him look smart, right?

I Heart You!

There's that smirk we all know and love!

Getting all shy giving mommy her Valentine's card - Awww, how cute!

We went out to a local Italian restaurant and Jacob got to have his favorite food - pasta! Slurp!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone, We Love You All!

Venturing out to Lowe's during the weekend - Jacob getting a driving lesson from daddy. We are getting ready to remodel our master bathroom since we have already remodeled our other two bathrooms in our house.

During the past 2 weeks, Jacob has shown a huge interest in feeding himself with a spoon or a fork. He does not want mommy or daddy to do it, he will make a fuss until he is able to hold the utensil. Even though it ends up being a huge mess for me to clean up after meals, Jacob is doing a great job! I am putting his meals into bowls and he is dipping his spoon in the bowl and understanding the spoon goes straight into his mouth.

Having fun with green jello at lunch yesterday.

At breakfast this morning, he even scooped up Cheerios in milk in his bowl! He is growing up so fast!

Mouth full of Cheerios.

Upset when the Cheerios were gone.
Jacob is now singing to himself too, it's really cute. We have a few books that make noise and he will sing along to them or hum to me when I sing to him (or attempt to sing to him).

Disney Playhouse!

On Saturday, we had an adventure as a family and got to go to Disney Playhouse in Seattle at the Paramount Theatre to see Pooh and Tigger, Handy Manny, Little Einsteins and Micky Mouse! It was an unbelievable experience and we had so much fun, we weren't able to take many pictures because cameras were not allowed but Jacob's face was pure joy and it just melted our hearts. The couple of times he got to go up on daddy's shoulders while everyone did the Mickey Mouse dance and Jacob's grin was so big (and mommy and grandma were in tears) it was adorable! At the end of the show, all the characters came out and did a big dance together and it was Jacob's favorite part. He sat on my lap, clapped his hands to the beat and was so excited, he kept pointing to all his favorite characters (Pooh and Tigger) and when all the confetti came shooting out, he let out a happy yell and then waved bye-bye to all of them... it is a memory we will all take with us.

Jacob hanging out with Handy Manny and his Tools.

They announced we were taking intermission, here is Jacob's face - "What? Keep the show going!! We don't need intermission, no diaper changes people!"

Jacob was worn out after the show and dinner, we found a great restaurant in downtown Seattle a few blocks from the theatre. Jacob is now ordering from the kids menu, so he gets his own meal. And no, he does not get his own Starbucks... I think he would be awake, not asleep.

At the show, grandma bought him this light wand and a Handy Manny doll (action figure). The light wand is the most awesome toy ever!!! He hasn't put it down, he held it for the entire show, you can't see it in the pictures, but the ball lights up bright colors and flashes and yes, Jacob whacked the guy sitting in front of us a few times in the theatre.

A lot of the kids in our playdates have been getting pretty sick, so we have just stayed home this past week. I could tell on Thursday Jake wasn't feeling too well, he just wanted to sit in his Pooh chair and watch Pooh and Tigger or cuddle with me all day (which of course, I don't mind). Poor little man, but he fought off the sickness and was fine after a few hours.

Jacob's new thing: Throwing EVERYTHING over the gate. For those of you that have not been to our house. Beyond this gate, is two stairs down, you turn to the left and there is a laundry room and a bathroom and if you turn to the right there is a flight of stairs to the front door. Jacob throws many toys over the gate and loves to listen to them bounce all the way down the stairs and to hear them hit the front door and then laughs. When Nate gets home from work, he is welcomed to a pile of Jake's toys. What a kid!

Jacob is also learning some body parts, he knows where his tummy and belly button is, his nose, ears and toes. We are slowing but surely working on the rest.

I am excited to say I am going to Hawaii in March! I am going with 4 women in my mom's group I joined and can't wait. It will be so much fun, we are going for 6 days! Thank you to Nathan and my mom for taking the week off to watch Jacob!!!
