Turkey-Coma

Great Sleeper!
On average, Jacob sleeps 5 straight hours each night. This weekend he slept 7 hours and last night, he slept 7 1/2 hours straight! Hopefully this will continue for most nights, keep your fingers crossed!!

Jacob had his 2 month checkup last week and he weighs 11lbs, 10oz!!
The doctor said he looked great and was very healthy!
I wonder if he had any influence...

Congrats Maggie and Jerrod! Nathan's sister is 20 weeks pregnant with twins and found out yesterday that they are having girls! Jacob is very excited to have 2 cousins!

Shy Boy
Jake and I have playtime several times each day, where he talks and smiles. I was finally able to catch a smile on camera! Well, the last part of the smile... Jacob has a tendency to put on his "serious" face when anyone takes out a camera or video camera.

Weekend Mornings With Daddy
Jake usually gets up around 5:30-6:00 am each morning (but sleeps from 9:30-3:30 am) and on Saturday and Sunday mornings, Nate gets up with Jake and allows me to sleep in for a few more hours (much appreciated)! Nate and Jacob come downstairs and sleep together in the rocking chair. When I get up, this is what I see... too cute!
First Night Away
Thank You Grandma! Jake spent the night at grandma's on Saturday night and let his mom and dad have a date night. Nate and I were able to drop Jake off at my mom's Saturday afternoon and we went to a movie and dinner (Melting Pot - thanks to Libby & Joe) and slept in on Sunday, it was wonderful. We sure missed Jacob but he had a good time getting spoiled at grandma's house, she bought him this Safari Rocker and he loves it! I think this will become a monthly over night ritual!

Milestones
Jake had his 1 month appointment on Friday, he now weighs 9lbs, 6 oz and is 22 inches long!! He has gained almost 2 pounds in 3 weeks. The doctor was very pleased with his gain since he had lost so much after birth. Jake has hit several developmental milestones in the last few days, he is recognizing all his toys and follows them around with his eyes. He is now understanding that when he hits the toy, it actually moves - it's really cute to watch. He has a girlfriend... the red ladybug on his activity blanket, he talks to her for hours. His new favorite word is "A-Goo" He is holding his head up on his own, we are working on tummy time each day and it's really paying off. We are still waiting for him to discover his feet! He is smiling a lot and starting to giggle (especially at his girlfriend) but whenever we turn on the camera, he clams up. And Jake finally peed on one of us - and it wasn't me... poor Nate got hit (it was quite funny)!

Happy 1 Month Jacob!

Our Little Cuddle Bug
Just a quick update: Jake is doing great! He is becoming more alert each day and is such a great baby! He is awake right now in his activity rocker and I can tell he is starting to recognize his toys. He is doing pretty well at night, we are starting to get into a routine, he actually slept 4 1/2 hours straight last night!!! Nate and I were super excited. He is still having a difficult time finding his thumbs, so he ends up sticking his entire fist in his mouth but isn't satisfied. We have our month checkup in a few weeks, they still want him to gain back 5 oz to get back to his birth weight. Jacob has had many visitors and is loving it - he loves snuggling up to all of them, we are looking forward to the next few weekends of more visitors. Thank you to all who have made the trip up here, we know it's not easy, but we appreciate it!
Hmmm... Do I tell mom that I have a dirty diaper???
