Playdates and First Haircut

Last weekend, Jacob, Nathan and I went to Pike Place to walk the Market, it's a great place to shop. Vendors are there everyday, all year long, and Jacob was entertained by all the people and would dance to the music. Nate was telling me the street musicians have to audition for a spot at Pike Place, they can't just pick a place and start playing, so most of them are really good and really fun to watch.

Jacob meeting Rachel the Pig, who is the mascot of Pike Place Market. It's good luck to rub the 550 pound pig's snout!

Jacob having a very good time with spaghetti the other night (one of his favorite foods).

All done!

Jacob had 2 playdates with Aidan last week, we met Aidan and Amy at a play center one day and Aidan came over and played for a couple of hours. Jacob had a lot of fun!
I have joined a local stay at home mom's group that have kids Jacob's age, and we had our first playdate last week. Jacob had a good time and we will continue to do activities so Jacob can have more interaction with kids his age (and not be stuck with me all the time)!

Reading books on the couch.

Jacob had his first haircut on Saturday. He doesn't have a lot of hair, but he had a mullet going on, so he had to get rid of it! He did pretty good, although he didn't really like the cape over him, which makes sense since he hated being swaddled as a baby. So, once he was able to sit on my lap and just lay his head on my chest he was just fine and enjoyed it. He looks so adorable with his little boy haircut!

Thanks Karen!

As I mentioned before, Jacob reads (well, looks at pictures) a lot, even more than playing with this toys.

Pictures

Here are some pictures of the last few weeks:

I took Jacob outside into our driveway a few days ago to try and teach him to ride his tricycle, but he was more interested in playing with all the leaves!

This is Jacob's favorite toy, his karaoke machine (great buy, not too annoying for parents and it entertains Jacob for a long time). Sometimes, he sits in front of it, gets his nose pressed up to the mirror, and talks to himself and makes funny faces. It is adorable! I try to caputure it on camera, but he always catches me! So, here are a few pictures of him seeing me trying to take pictures of him or of Nate taking video of him. It's just so cute!

We have been practicing eating meals off of plates and Jacob has been doing great. He only picks up the plate when it is empty or he is done. He is been eating lots of fruits and vegetables. Some of his favorite foods so far are apples, pears, bananas, lime jello, and crackers. We have been trying to give him as much Organic products as we can.

Sitting at his little table reading like a big boy! Most of you know, but Jacob LOVES LOVES LOVES to read books, he does this all day long. He takes after his mommy on this. He has about 20 books in his toy chest that he reads everyday. If Jacob is quiet for a bit, we know he is sitting somewhere, flipping through the pages of one of his books. Then he will drag a book or two over to you, hand them up and want to sit on your lap so you can read to him while HE turns the pages (don't you think you can turn the pages, it's his job, just a heads up). Jacob even pulls his books out first from the toy box before his toys...

We had a playdate with Aidan on Sunday at a play yard at the mall. Jacob had a good time playing at the children's play area, although there were a lot of kids there!

Figured it was time for some bath pictures!!!!
Practicing toothbrushing, Jacob has 10 teeth now.

Happy Halloween

After the final game of the World Series (yeah Phillies), Jacob was celebrating from all the excitement on the television. He was clapping, laughing and jumping around - it was so cute!

Jacob has been into dancing for the last 3 months or so. Seriously, everytime any beat comes on from anywhere, he breaks out dancing. It can be music from TV (even if it's a 2 second music clip), the computer, rhythm of the dryer, of the dishwasher, of Nate coming up the stairs, really anything. I'm not joking. He loves to dance, and the kid has rhythm (don't ask me where he gets it from). He has a karaoke machine (seen above in the picture) he hits the orange button all day and dances all day to it. He will even dance to my humming... anyway, you get my point. It's cute to watch and he always has a smile on his face!

Practicing "Trick or Treat"

Showing Jacob his pumpkin that his daddy carved for him!

Jacob not liking being in his costume (even though Pooh is his favorite)

Okay, so being Winnie The Pooh isn't so bad...

Pooh is awesome!

Mommy and Pooh

Nate and Jacob going Trick or Treating at some local businesses

Going to grandma's house (visiting with Nan)

Nate's handy work!

Jacob getting a belly full of honey before doing some more Trick or Treating.

As I have mentioned several times, Jacob is very independent! He does not like to be carried, and rarely lets you hold his hand and he does not walk any longer, he runs! You have to guide him by moving the top of his head to the direction desired, and this works half of the time. So this is him, in his usual fashion, going in the opposite direction you would like him to go.

I loved the padding the Pooh costume had on the tummy, Jacob looked so cute running down the sidewalk!

Our friend JP came along to help out, Jacob actually let him hold his hand a few times! Here they are going up to a haunted cemetery house... scary!

Jacob had fun with grandma and Darel answering the door and handing out candy!

So grown up!

Last year on the same couch! So little, only 1 1/2 months old!

Jacob at home checking out the loot...

Jacob at 13 1/2 months

Jacob at 1 1/2 months. I know, this picture isn't great, but it always cracks me up everytime I see it. We took about 10 of him next to the pumpkin and this was the last one, it's as if he was telling us, enough already, I'm tired!!!

Hope everyone had a great Halloween!
