Las Vegas Trip

My mom and I went on a girl's 4 day weekend in Vegas a few weeks ago, we had a FABULOUS time! Although my nice camera stopped working on our first day there (it is currently getting fixed, but will take 6-8 weeks, which is sad because if you haven't noticed, I am addicted to taking pictures of Jacob everyday) we had to settle for a disposable camera while we were there, so we ended up not taking very many photos. We splurged the entire time we were there, we stayed at The Venetian in a suite that is almost the same size as our house!

We pretty much stayed in the Venetian our entire stay, we had a very incredible spa day (I won't even mention what it cost or your computer screen might explode). The spa is in the Venetian, it's 139,000 square feet and is pretty amazing! It had so many different types of showers, I wasn't sure where to start!

We had the best meal of my life as Michael Mina in the Bellagio. We originally went down to the Bellagio to eat at their cafe, but we were intrigued by Michael Mina's menu, fortunately, we were able to get a table and the service and food were impeccable! We tried Foie Gras (yes, duck liver) compliments of the chef and it was really good. And I had my first taste of grade 12 Kobe Beef, and now, no other steak can compare. Our waiter was very attentive, if I even looked around the room observing, he was by my side asking if I needed anything and filling up my beverage. I actually got escorted to the ladies room, and someone was waiting to push my chair in upon arrival at the table with a new linen napkin. Sounds like a stuffy restaurant, but it wasn't at all. It was an experience that my mom and I will never forget and we highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. We also had a nice dinner at MGM Grand at CraftSteak which is owned by the head judge on Top Chef. We also ate in The Venetian's Bouchon, which had the most incredible waffle EVER! Oh, and we ordered a pretty elaborate room service breakfast one morning, it was wonderful as well. Can you tell we had a few great meals?!?

We also went to see The Blue Man Group, we purchased really good seats (right past the poncho section) and I have to say, it was okay... very interesting that 3 men can perform for almost 2 hours without saying a word. But we didn't know how much audience participation there was, it was good but not sure I would recommend it.

We aren't big gamblers, just usually 5 cents slot machines, so after our incredible meal at Michael Mina, I put my first $20.00 in a slot machine and less than 10 minutes later, I had $530.00, and if you know me, I immediately cash out and didn't gamble much after that.

It was a great mother-daughter vacation, and I did very well being away from Jacob for a few days, I knew Nate was home taking good care of him. I am sure they watched plenty of football and had fun together. Oh, and we also put a small dent in the Coach store... we needed mother-daughter purses to remember the vacation right???
